Hood Countians, holding American flags and hands over their hearts, stood solemnly along Highway 377 Sunday afternoon in patriotic support of the family of Army Sgt. 1st Class Riley Stephens who was being taken to his final resting place in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. The motorcade, which left Tolar Baptist Church – site of the funeral service – was estimated over three miles long. Stephens died in combat in Afghanistan Sept. 28.
