High wind Thursday causes fire concern

February 19, 2014

A front that will whip winds up to 35 mph will move into the area Thursday morning, creating an explosive fire situation most of the day, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly and have the potential to endanger lives and property, the NWS said. Avoid all outside burning and welding Thursday, the NWS recommends. Do not toss lit cigarette butts outside.
