Granbury woman dies of the flu

January 25, 2014

A family member has confirmed that 38-year-old Granbury resident and mother of three Stacey Parker has died of the flu. Charlie Todd told the Hood County News late Saturday (Jan. 25) that the Centers for Disease Control will be categorizing her sister’s death as flu-related and that no autopsy will be performed. Todd, as well as a family friend, said that Parker had been in a medically-induced coma for several weeks and had been transferred from Lake Granbury Medical Center to a hospital in Plano.Though Parker had the flu, it is believed that she may have suffered a heart attack or blood clotting that caused multiple organs to fail.
