Firefighters fend of brush blaze near Lipan

A brush fire burned about six acres Thursday afternoon just east of Lipan, but firefighters were able to knock down flames that were starting to be a threat to three homes and two barns in the area, according to Fire Marshal Ray Wilson and other sources. Wilson said the fire began as a rekindle of a controlled burn from the previous day. No one was injured and there was no structure or property damage, Wilson said.
