Council to consider $65,000 for theater company

The Granbury City Council will consider paying $65,000 to the Granbury Theater Company to defray production license expenses, as well as costs involved in renting a place to put on shows during the renovation of the Opea House. The renovation work is months behind schedule. The consideration will take place during Tuesday night’s regular council meeting. Part of the deal may be that the theater company will pay the city 25 percent of its profits, after expenses are covered.
