City, county and economic development officials say that everyone’s taxes will likely be raised to make up for plummeting lakefront property values – unless something is done to protect the lake level. The newly formed Brazos River Upper Basin Coalition, made up of local concerned citizens, is asking the public to participate in a fundraiser to defray the cost of an environmental impact study and an economic impact study. The fundraiser will be held this week at a local restaurant. Look for details in the Wednesday, May 15, issue of the Hood County News.
