County Commissioners have instructed Joey Grisham, head of the Lake Granbury Economic Development Corporation, to draft a letter informing unnamed corporate executives that the court will entertain their request for a Chapter 380/381 Economic Development Agreement. Cities and counties sometimes enter into such agreements, which involve tax abatements and the company building infrastructure. Though the motion made by Precinct 2 Commissioner Dick Roan following a closed session did not name the company requesting the partnership, several sources say it is Kroger. There has long been a Kroger store near Business 377, but sources told the Hood County News that company execs are looking at building a new store.
