The Granbury City Council, at its regular meeting Tuesday night (Feb. 4), approved a new ordinance prepared by City Attorney Stuart Neal that simplifies and clarifies rules for any company wanting to offer vehicles for hire – including taxi cabs, limousines, shuttle services, horse-drawn carriages and pedicabs. Neal and other city officials said they have been approached by people wanting to offer vehicles for hire, but those people complained to the city that its ordinance was out-dated and confusing. Neal said that the new rules should resolve those issues. The Granbury Police Department will inspect any vehicles for hire and will enforce the ordinance.
