Celebrate Texas Independence Day

Reenactors will gather on the square this weekend to recognize Texas Independence Day. The “March 2 Texas” celebration begins at 9 a.m. Saturday when vendor booths open on the square. Live music and other activities continue all day. Sunday activities begin with a Cowboy Church service at 9 a.m. on the square and vendor booths opening at 10. The Elizabeth Crockett service takes place at 1 p.m. Sunday at the memorial site in Acton. Sunday’s activities on the square include a 2:45 p.m. performance by fiddler Ridge Roberts, 9.
