Capital murder trial of Thomas Layton Jr. delayed once more

The capital murder trial of 48-year-old Western Hills Harbor resident Thomas Grady Layton has been delayed once again due to a continuance request from his defense attorney, according to Collin County First Assistant District Attorney John Schomburger. Layton is accused of murdering his mother in her Plano home in 2010. His latest trial date had been scheduled for July 8. Schomburger said Layton’s trial has been re-set for Oct.7.
