The Brazos River Authority cancelled a meeting with members of the Lake Granbury Coalition that had been scheduled for Friday morning (Jan. 24) at the BRA’s offices in Waco, according to Granbury City Council member Mickey Parson. The meeting had been on the calendar since December, Parson said, and the Coalition had hoped to go over several important issues that are tied to the ever-decreasing lake level. The Coalition is made up of representatives of the city and county governments as well as the Lake Granbury Waterfront Owners Association (LGWOA). Each entity has contributed $100,000 to fund efforts to work with the BRA in protecting Lake Granbury. The Hood County New was unable to seek an explanation from the BRA during normal working hours.
