Bed and breakfast owner Tom Baker, a frequent attendee at meetings of the Granbury City Council, said at Tuesday night’s council meeting that he intended to file paperwork with the city secretary on Wednesday (Aug. 7) to be a candidate in the Nov. 5 city elections. Baker wants to serve out the remaining year of Nin Hulett’s Place 4 seat. Hulett, the mayor pro tem, has taken over mayoral duties all year, due to Mayor Rickie Pratt having been incapacitated by a stroke. Hulett is running for mayor against former Mayor David Southern. Baker told the HCN Tuesday night that another candidate for mayor reportedly filed after the newspaper went to press with its Wednesday issue.
