Retired Granbury educator Nancy Alana spoke to students at Oak Woods School about a book she has written. The book, “The Lost Treasure of Lincoln County: A Great American Adventure,” is historical fiction, but is based in part on Alana’s ancestors, the Siffords who immigrated to America from Germany in 1753. The story takes place in Lincolnton, N.C., and centers on two young boys who find an old wooden box with a treasure map. While searching for the treasure, the boys learn about the Siefert/Sifford family with the aid of a local historian.
