Auditions for the Granbury Theatre Company’s production of Steel Magnolias will be Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the dormitory lobby, 116 S. Houston St. just off the square. The show has six female roles, described as two older, two younger and two in-between. Auditioners will be asked to perform cold readings from the script and must be prepared to use a southern accent. A prepared comedic monologue of 1-2 minutes will be appreciated, but not mandatory. Rehearsals begin Aug. 3 and are 6-10 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays. Performances are Sept. 6-Oct. 5 Thursdays through Saturdays. Contact director Andy Looney at [email protected].
