An 8-year-old girl was transported to Lake Granbury Medical Center Wednesday with multiple bites after she was attacked near her home on Gafford Court in Lipan by a Rhodesian ridgeback/pit bull mix, according to Hood County Animal Control Sergeant Kelly McNab. The dog inflicted wounds to the girl’s back, thighs and arms, the sergeant said. The girl was believed to have been treated and released, officials said. The owner surrendered the dog, which was euthanized by Animal Control. Rabies test results from the dog are expected next week.
