18-wheeler heading from Granbury to West; Donations of money accepted

An 18-wheeler loaded with donated items was expected to leave Granbury on Sunday (April 21), headed to the community of West, where a massive fertilizer plant explosion last week leveled homes and buildings for blocks. Organizer Chris Watson said the items were dropped off at the local VFW Post by concerned citizens. Stonewater Church, he said, also participated in the relief effort. Watson said the following information on where to send donations of money was given to him by the office of state Sen. Brian Birdwell: P.O. Box 279, West, Texas, 76691. Write “ATTN: Victims of the West Explosion” on the envelope. PointWest Bank and State National Bank are handling the donations, Watson said. For more information, go to www.pintwestbank.com.
