For the ninth time in 10 years, the Granbury Lady Pirates volleyball team has been recognized among the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Awards. The award was granted to the 2012 squad that also advanced to the Class 4A Region I quarterfinals (third round). It honors college and high school teams that displayed at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.
