Miles Wagner isn’t quite finished representing Granbury High baseball.
The recently graduated Wagner has one more game as a Pirate.
Wagner will be playing outfield for the West Team in Sunday’s North Texas Baseball Coaches Association (NTBCA) All-Star Game. The contest begins at 7 p.m. at QuickTrip Park in Grand Prairie, home of the Airhogs minor league team.
The last Granbury player to participate in the game was Cooper Dodd in 2007.
“Miles has worked very hard all of last summer and last fall so he could have a great senior season, and it has paid off,” said Granbury coach Brad Hart.
“As a coach, there is nothing better than to see your players have success after working so hard to get it.”
Wagner batted .375, drove in a team-high 27 runs and led the team with nine triples. In addition, he was one of the top pitchers in District 7-4A, finishing 8-3 with a 2.02 ERA, earning first-team all-district honors.
Wagner was key in the Pirates (17-14) having their best season since 2009. They reached the second round of the playoffs.
“Miles was a driving force behind our success,” said Hart.
