The Tolar Lady Rattlers, turning in a solid team performance, won their second consecutive District 10-2A volleyball match Tuesday at Rio Vista, 25-18, 22-25, 25-18, 26-24.
Six different players served points for the Lady Rattlers (10-10 overall, 2-3 in district), led by Brilyn Akerley with 15 and Madison Prichard-Warren with a dozen.
Defensively, seven players combined for 23 digs. Reagan Mabery and Shandy Wilcox led with four each.
“We started off strong with good intensity. We had a rough patch in the middle, but we worked as a team and pulled through,” said Wilcox, who paced play at the net with 12 of the team’s 19 kills and three of their four blocks.
The Lady Rattlers improved to 10-6 in road matches this season. They were wrapping up the first half of district last night at Whitney and open the second half Tuesday at Grandview. That’s followed by a final road match at Godley on Oct. 9 before ending the season with four consecutive home matches.
