Five members of the Tolar Lady Rattlers volleyball team were recently honored for their skills in the classroom as well as their abilities on the court.
Seniors Cheyenne Clark, Carson King, Madison Prichard Warren, Reagan Mabery and Meg Gilliam were named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 2A Academic All-State Team.
In addition, Gilliam was second-team Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State, while Clark, King and Prichard Warren were honorable mentions.
To qualify for these honors, students must maintain top grades all throughout high school, along with being a member of the team in good standing.
“A coach is always proud to see players achieve athletic honors for their hard work, dedication, and natural abilities, but academic honors exemplify characteristics that will serve them well in all facets of life,” said Tolar coach Scotty Miller.
“I am very proud of them for the manner in which they represent Tolar High School.”
Clark, Prichard Warren, Mabery, King, and Gilliam were also Academic All-District 10-2A, along with Shelby Nunley, Hannah Lee, Madeline Dawson and Magen Collie.
Mabery and Prichard Warren were also named second-team All-District 10-2A for their play on the court.
