The Tolar Lady Rattlers began play in District 10-2A last night playing their best volleyball of the season.
And head coach Scotty Miller hopes the best is yet to come.
After dropping 11 of their first 13 matches to start the season, the Lady Rattlers (7-12) enter league play having won five of their past six. This included Tuesday’s 25-19, 25-19, 25-14 victory over Hamilton at home.
“We played really well tonight,” said Miller, who is in his first season at the helm. “Lots of enjoyment and energy for sure.
“The girls are really starting to understand what we want to do and what we need to do to be successful.
“Finishing our nondistrict schedule on a positive note just gives us confidence going forward.”
Once again the Lady Rattlers had a strong serving game, delivering 15 combined aces from six players. Hannah Lee led with six, while Magen Collie added four.
At the net, Madison Prichard Warren posted a dozen of the team’s 26 kills, while Collie also had 14 assists.
“We are going to get better every time we are on the court,” said Miller.
