The Tolar cross country teams took a trip to Hico last week to compete in the Bluebonnett Invitational.
Tim Williams led all Tolar runners, finishing 26th in the Boys Division. He clocked a time of 20:10 over the 5K course.
“The Bluebonnett Invitational was a pretty tough course, but Tim ran a pretty good race,” said Tolar coach Benita Carlton.
“He faced a few teams from our district, and is sitting pretty close to some tough runners in district.”
Tim is the younger brother of former state qualifiers Jacob, Caleb and Rachel Williams.
Hannah Peregrino led the girls, taking 79th. Marlee Thomas was next in 80th place, while Logan Chandler was 82nd and Shelby Newton 104th.
“Again, a pretty tough course. Not something we are used to running, but for the first meet the girls ran well,” said Carlton.
