Tolar girls hanging on to playoff hopes

The Tolar Lady Rattlers are hoping for a miracle as the regular season winds down.

Their 44-27 road victory over Rio Vista Tuesday night elevated them to 6-5 in District 10-2A as Hannah Peregrino led with 15 points and teammate Breanna Rogers added 11.

“We played well, and did what we had to do to keep our chances alive,” Tolar coach Benita Carlton said.

Tolar took on 6-4 Grandview last night. Ahead of them in the standings are Whitney at 7-4, Maypearl at 7-3 and Godley at 9-1. Whitney had an open date Friday, while Godley was taking on Maypearl.

Tolar finished the regular season last night.

Peregrino pulled down a team-leading 12 rebounds. Rogers recorded six steals.

Tolar jumped out to a 14-4 advantage in the opening quarter, and led 21-9 at intermission.
