The Tolar girls increased their lead in each quarter and got a team-leading 24 points and 14 rebounds from Hannah Peregrino in a 66-43 basketball triumph over Keene Tuesday night on the road to open the second half of 10-2A play.
Tolar girls coach Benita Carlton said it was the best shooting night the Lady Rattlers have had so far this season.
“It’s good for us to start the second half of district with a win and shooting the ball well,” she said. “We’ve lost Kacey Frazier (a senior) for the year with an ACL and meniscus tear. She did a great job for us this season and really hate it for her to go out this way.”
Carlton noted that Michaela Phillips was expected to be able to play once again starting last night.
In addition to Peregrino’s performance, which included half of her team’s 28 rebounds, teammate Breanna Rogers scored 11 with five assists and Carly Knapp had 10. Meredith Caudle also had five assists.
