Tolar falls just shy of winning mark

The Tolar Lady Rattlers barely missed finishing with a winning softball record for the first time since 2010 after they dropped a 5-4 contest at Whitney Friday to end the season.

The Lady Rattlers finished 13-14 overall and 3-7 in District 10-2A.

The Lady Rattlers fell in the season finale despite Taya Vasquez pitching a three-hitter with 13 strikeouts..

Staci Ashley and Katie Keith led the Tolar offense, each with two of the Lady Rattlers’ nine hits.

Rattlers’ playoff hopes over

The Tolar Rattlers’ baseball playoff hopes came to an end Friday with a 12-0 loss at Whitney.

The Rattlers (12-11 overall) fell to 3-6 in District 10-2A with a game remaining at Godley this past Monday night.

Tolar pitching – Taya Vasquez 7 innings, 3 hits, 5 runs (4 earned), 3 walks, 13 strikeouts.

Tolar hitting – Staci Ashley 2 hits, Katie Keith 2 hits, Hannah Lee 1 hit, Vasquez 1 hit and RBI, Bailey Holt 1 hit and RBI, Carson King 1 hit, Hailey Webb 1 hit.

Tolar record – 13-14 overall, 3-7 in 10-2A.
