Tolar falls at home

March 26, 2014

The Tolar Lady Rattlers suffered from a lack of offense and defense in a 10-0 loss to Graford Friday.

The Lady Rattlers (5-8 overall) fell to 1-2 in District 10-2A.

Tolar hurt itself with four errors that led to seven unearned runs. They also managed just five singles offensively.

“Not what I envisioned our score to be in this game. We were flat on offense and defense,” said Tolar coach Christy Collie.

“Grandview hit the ball in the holes and we hit it straight to the defense.”

Tolar pitcher Staci Ashley surrendered just three earned runs, walked two and struck out four. She also was the only Lady Rattler to reach base more than once, singling, walking and stealing a base.

“I’m proud of the girls no matter the finish,” said Collie. “I’ll say it again, my girls are fighters, and they will bring a different game next time we face Grandview.”
