The three-time defending Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class A state champion North Central Texas Academy Lady Pioneers moved to 2-0 on the young season with a 57-31 thumping of Westlake Monday.
The Lady Pioneers were led in scoring by Carolina Bianchi with 27 points, while Esther Udonsi added 24.
Udonsi also pulled down six rebounds and dished out seven assists. Bianchi grabbed seven rebounds.
Jenny Chen and Emily Bloyd rounded out the Lady Pioneers’ scoring with 5 and 1 point, respectively.
“I’m really excited,” said first-year coach Jodie Stevens. “Our team is really fast and we transition well.”
Stevens is the third Lady Pioneers’ coach in four seasons. Tammy Evans left after two seasons and is now at Arlington Grace Prep, and Emily Britt is an assistant at Granbury.
