Students cut ribbon on new field

Granbury High School students cut the ribbon on the new synthetic surface on Johnny Perkins Field at Pirate Stadium during a recent ceremony sponsored by the Lake Granbury Chamber of Commerce. Cutting the ribbon was GHS student council president Sydney Carpenter, who was joined by student representatives of the teams and organizations that will utilize the field. These included the GHS student council, GHS Pirate Band, Stowaways, GHS cheerleaders and JROTC, as well as the football, boys soccer and girls soccer teams. Also on hand for the celebrations were chamber president Mike Scott, GISD board president Micky Shearon, superintendent Dr. James Largent, GHS principal Jeremy Ross, Pirate head football coach Scotty Pugh, and band director Mark Eastin.
