HOLE-IN-ONE FOR WEESE

Dean Weese made a hole-in-one at Pecan Plantation Country Club recently, acing the eighth hole. His shot was witnessed by G.W. Connor, Howard York and Bill Cope.

MCCURDY RECORDS ACE

Susie McCurdy made a hole-in-one on the 130-yard fifth hole at deCordova Bend Country Club recently. She used a 5-hybrid club and her shot was witnessed by Don McCurdy, Annette Shifflett and Dirk Bordsen.

PUMAS HOLDING TRYOUTS

The Pumas Football Club is holding practices and team tryouts on the following dates:

June 27, 5:30-7 p.m. for U11-U13 and 7-8:30 p.m. for U14-U17.

July 1, 2,3 and 8 at the same times for the same ages.

July 6 from 9-10:30 a.m. for U11-U13 and 10:30 a.m.-noon for U14-U17.

All tryouts will be held at Granbury City Park. All teams play in the Arlington Premiere League and are coached by Cisco Matherne.

DISC GOLF CLINIC SCHEDULED

The City of Granbury Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a Disc Golf Clinic on Saturday, July 13 at the Granbury Disc Golf Course, 600 W. Moore St. The clinic begins at 10 a.m.

DISC GOLF TOURNAMENT

TO BENEFIT AILING PLAYER

The Granbury Open disc golf tournament will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at the city’s disc golf course.

The tournament benefits Doug Grossnickle of the Granbury Disc Golf Club. Proceeds will go to helping with his medical costs related to his battle with stage 4 lymphoma.

Amateurs will win merchandise, while professionals will win cash.

HIDDEN OAKS SUMMER

JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAM

Hidden Oaks Golf Course will host Junior Golf Day each Wednesday through Aug. 14. This includes the Hood County News Junior Golf Tournaments on July 10, July 31, and Aug. 14.

Each Wednesday will include a clinic from 9:30-11 a.m., with optional course play to follow on non-tournament days. The schedule excludes July 3.

Hidden Oaks will also host Summer Junior Golf Camps June 18-20 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and July 16-18 from 9:30 a.m.-noon. A tournament will follow each camp.

Cost for Junior Golf Days are $15 each. Junior Golf Camps are $60 each. Both camps and all Junior Golf Days are $200.
