The North Central Texas Lady Pioneers ran their Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools District 2-A record to 6-0 Tuesday with a 51-4 rout of visiting Brownwood Victory Life.

Sara Etherington led NCTA (18-2 overall) with 14 points, while Jenni Chen added 12. Cynthia Rivas scored eight, Shelby Lyle seven, Anna Strickland six, and Melissa Rivera four.

“Everyone got time tonight, and the girls that come off the bench keep improving every day,” said coach Emily Britt.

The Lady Pioneers travel to Wichita Falls Christ Academy today for a 1 p.m. game.


The North Central Texas Academy Pioneers had little trouble with visiting Brownwood Victory Life Tuesday, winning 61-18.

The win improved the Pioneers to 7-12 overall and 5-2 in TAPPS 2-A. They were led by Caleb Finley’s 16 points, while Cale Dodson added a dozen.

Also for NCTA, Jared Dodson scored nine, Ken Reita eight, Elias Fekadu and Zach Pate each had six, and Jon Durant and Tyler Hoskins contributed two apiece.

The Pioneers travel to Wichita Falls Christ Academy today for a 2:30 p.m. game.

SB tourney to benefit

Tolar Project Graduation

The Tolar High Project Graduation Slow Pitch Softball Tournament is set for March 9 at City Park in Granbury. Competition will feature Men’s and Co-Ed divisions, and schedules will not conflict.

There will also be a home run derby.

Entry fee is $150 per team.
