In recent years the Tolar Rattlers baseball team has had a good showing in the Ranger Tournament, and this season was no exception.

The Rattlers won two of their three games, scoring an eye-popping 35 in their two victories.

Tolar (4-3) opened with an 11-4 victory against Gorman and followed with a 24-7 thumping of Ranger. They wrapped up with a 6-4 loss to Hico, a game in which they had a 4-1 lead.

Dusty Kimmell, Lance Smith and Stevie Morphew each had four hits to lead the Rattlers.

The Rattlers scored 16 runs in the fourth inning to ice the win over Ranger.

In that victory, Kimmell drove in five runs and Endsley had four RBIs. Smith had four singles.

“Overall, we had a pretty good tournament,” said coach Darrell Hogan.

“Our pitchers are getting good innings and I’m getting some good looks at what our lineup is going to be for district play.”
