Rattlers finish 1-1-1 in Ranger tourney

The Tolar Rattlers matched their victory total for the entire 2012 season this past weekend with a 7-3 victory against Eastland in the Ranger Tournament.

The Rattlers (8-3-1) won one, lost one and tied one in the tournament. They fell 15-11 to Gorman and fought Hico to an 8-8 tie, just a few days after having defeated the Tigers 9-4.

In the win over Eastland, the Rattlers got a three-hitter from pitcher Cole Chism. He struck out six and only two of the runs against him were earned.

In addition, Chism had two of the Rattlers’ seven hits in the win.

In the tie with Hico, the Rattlers let an 8-3 lead slip away. They outhit the Tigers 10-5.

Lance Smith had three hits in the tie.

Stats were not available for the game against Gorman.
