Rattler runner fourth
The Tolar cross country team competed in the Lone Cedar Ranger College Invitational recently.
Tim Williams was the lone entry for the Rattlers. He finished fourth over the 3.1-mile course, clocking a time of 18:51.
For the Lady Rattlers, Marlee Thomas completed the 2-mile course in a time of 16:11 for 31st place, followed by Hannah Peregrino in 35th with a 16:29. Meredith Caudle ran a 16:37 for 40th.
“We’ve had some pretty tough competition in the past few meets, being able to see and run against some from our district,” said Tolar coach Benita Carlton.
“Going to Lone Cedar we saw some competition from areas farther west from us.
“We still competed, but I didn’t feel like we competed at the level we needed to. I think our varsity girls have the capaability to drop their times. This next meet (at Brock today) we will need to step it up a little bit and see where we stand before our district meet.”
The 10-2A Meet is Oct. 24 in Whitney, where Tolar competed on Sept. 26.
