The Granbury Pirates made short work of their two opponents in the District 7-4A Tennis Tournament, earning their third consecutive postseason berth.

The Pirates disposed of Arlington Heights 13-2 Friday, followed by a 10-1 thumping of South Hills Saturday.

Granbury (12-6) is the No. 2 seed for the postseason from 7-4A. Aledo (12-1) won the regular-season championship and earned the automatic area berth.

“It really was a total team effort,” said Granbury coach Jeff Bramlett, noting that several members of the junior varsity squad were called up for the tournament and looked impressive.

So dominant was Granbury in the finals that no doubles matches had to be played. The Pirates had won the necessary 10 matches in singles.
