Pirates 6th in tough golf tourney

The Granbury Pirates Purple team finished sixth and the Gold team 12th in the Horseshoe Bay Halloween Classic recently.

The Purple squad shot 666, posting a 343 on the Applerock course and a 323 on Slickrock. The Gold shot 720 (364-356).

The Purple was led by Zach Wall, who shot a 161 (84-77), followed by Briggs Berry with a 166 (88-78). Luke Elliott (88-82) and Baker White (84-86) each came in at 170, and Brady Wright shot 177 (87-90).

Anson Wilson led the Gold with a 176 (87-89), followed by Harrison Knight at 178 (89-89), Riley Summer at 186 (98-88), Blake Brown with a 186 (96-90), and Johnny Eckley with a 191 (92-99).

The four lowest scores in each round comprise the team total.

“The guys finished the fall season on a good note, and we look for good things from them in the spring,” said Pirate coach Steve Ward.
