Pioneers take third at state

The North Central Texas Academy Pioneers, led by the running of Austin Madden, finished third in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class A State Cross Country Meet recently.

Madden clocked a time of 19:19 over the 3.1-mile course at Baylor University. Will Young of Nacogdoches Regents won with a 17:29.

The Pioneers had three runners in the top 15. Elias Fekadu was eighth with a time of 20:15, and Zachary Pate was 14th in 21:03.
