The North Central Texas Academy Pioneers still have not finished a football game this season.

For the first time, however, they played well into the fourth quarter, improving to 5-0 with a 74-26 victory against Alvin Living Stones.

The Pioneers have won all of their games this season by the six-man football mercy rule of 45 or more points. They have outscored their opponents 327-64.

Josh Torres led the Pioneers, rushing for a season-best 226 yards and four touchdowns on 13 carries. Angel Tercero added 141 yards and a pair of TDs on six carries.

Tercero accounted for 242 yards of offense as he was also 7-for-13 passing for 101 yards and four TDs.

“We played well on both sides of the ball,” said NCTA coach Kirby Rasco. “Josh had his best game of the season offensively and defensively.”

Living Stones and NCTA each had their 2011 seasons ended by state champion Fredericksburg Heritage. Living Stones lost in the state semifinals, and the Pioneers fell in the final.
