The North Central Texas Academy Pioneers moved above the .500 mark Friday with a 62-12 victory against Fort Worth Covenant Classical in the Pioneers’ final home game of the season.

The game was called at halftime because of six-man football’s mercy rule. They jumped out to a 40-0 lead after the first quarter and iced the contest in the second quarter.

Tyler Hoskins had another big game running the ball for the Pioneers (5-4), carrying a dozen times for 173 yards and three touchdowns.

Elias Demissie accounted for a touchdown in three different ways. He rushed for a score, threw for a TD, and caught a TD. He also accounted for 124 yards of total offense.

In addition, he led all tacklers with seven and recovered a fumble on defense.

Jared Dodson threw for three touchdowns.

Also, Drayton Williams returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown.

The Pioneers finish the regular season at home against Brownwood Victory Life. A win qualifies them for the playoffs in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Six-Man Division II.
