Nelson paces Indians blowout

The Lipan Indians made every hit count, registering a 12-1 victory against Gordon Friday.

The Indians (4-2 overall, 4-2 in District 10-A) collected a dozen hits in the victory.

Brady Nelson led Lipan both pitching and hitting.

On the mound, Nelson (2-0) struck out nine and walked none in five innings. The game was called at that point because of the 10-run mercy rule after five innings..

At the plate, Nelson was 3-for-3 and drove in three runs.

“The team played well in all phases tonight,” said Lipan coach Mike Permenter.

Defensively, the Indians backed up Nelson by commiting just one error. Gordon countered with five

In its four wins Lipan has outscored its opponents 47-12. The past three victories have come via mercy rule.
