The Lipan boys and girls golf teams each finished at their own Lipan Invitational Monday at Holiday Hills in Mineral Wells.
The Indians shot a 364. Rival Huckabay won the tournament with a 356.
Colby Clinton and Trevor Hedeman led Lipan, each shooting an 82. Clinton finished as the second medalist overall, winning a playoff.
Also for the Indians, Ben Ward shot 90 and Hunter Hightower 114.
The Lady Indians posted a 442, just behind winner Gustine with a 440.
Jennifer Waldrup was top medalist, shooting a 102, and Nicole Holtby was third with a 108. Also, Jasmine Yanez shot 112 and Ashlyn Scottino came in at 120.
For Hedeman, it was the second straight tournament in which he has posted his best score of the season, besting the round of 86 from the week before.
“He’s really improving. They are all doing well,” said Lipan coach Mike Permenter.
“I feel good about both teams. I feel like both have a great chance to advance (to regionals).
“It was cold and conditions were not good, so when we come back to this course, I think we can do even better. I’ve been there with Colby when he shot 74.”
The District 16-A Tournament is April 8, also at Holiday Hills.
