Lipan rolls past Hico

The Lipan Indians used a 29-6 run over the second and third quarters to come away with a 48-26 nondistrict basketball victory at Hico Tuesday.

The victory improved the Indians to 5-8.

Lipan was led by Trevor Hedeman with 18 points.

Lipan actually had more turnovers (20-19), but the Indians stymied Hico with defense, holding them to 18 percent shooting (10-for-57). Hico was 2-for-25 from 3-point range.

The Indians and Lady Indians are playing in the Tenaha Tournament in East Texas Dec. 26-28.

Team rebounds – Lipan 40 (22 offensive), Hico 30 (5 offensive).

Turnovers – Lipan 20. Hico 19.
