The Lipan Lady Indians won their second consecutive home cross country meet this season, topping the field in the Lipan Range Run.
The Lady Indians scored 57 points to edge runner-up Breckenridge with 63. In cross country, the lower the score the better.
Lipan was led by Shauna Coleman, who finished the 2-mile course in 14 minutes and 3 seconds. Lanie Roberts was sixth with a time of 14:28.
Among the varsity boys, Tolar’s Tim Williams finished second. He ran the 3.1-mile course in 16:26.
“Almost every one of them ran a personal best,” said Lipan coach Amber Branson.
Also for the Lady Indians, Shelby Bontke finished 11th with a time of 14:45, Catherine Thormann clocked a 14:47 for 12th, and Nicole Reid finished in 16:08 for 26th.
Also for the Tolar boys, Darrell Boatman’s time of 21:09 was good for 41st.
The Lady Rattlers were led by Morgan Thomas, who posted a 16:33 for 32nd place. Marlee Thomas was 41st in 17:18, Shelby Newton was 48th in 18:44, and Carly Knapp was 61st in 20:55.
“I was so pleased with the runner this week,” said Tolar coach Casey Keith. “Everyone improved their time greatly.”
