The Lipan Lady Indians ran to a fourth-place finish at the Brock Cross Country Meet recently.
Lipan was led by the first-place individual finish of Lanie Roberts, who ran the 2-mile course in 12 minutes and 42 seconds. Catherine Thormann was 10th with a clocking of 14:08.
Also for Lipan, Shelby Bontke finished in 15:02, Nicole Reid clocked a 15:12, and Bryanna Phelps posted a 15:30. Caden Herron ran a 16:16 and Ashlyn Scottino finished in 17:56. Also, Brenda Ibarra clocked a time of 18:43.
North Central Texas Academy was 14th in the team standings. The Lady Pioneers were led by Esther Udonsi’s time of 15:37, while Emily Wilbourne was timed in 17:18, Carolina Dos Santos finished in 17:46, Sydney Lindsey posted an 18:34, and Cynthia Rivas came across in 18:39.
The Tolar Lady Rattlers had three runners. Morgan Thomas finished in 15:25, Marlee Thomas had a 17:33, and Shelby Newton had a 17:45.
The Tolar boys had a pair of runners compete over their 3.1-mile course. Darrell Boatman posted a 20:33 and T.J. Foster had a 20:57.
Lipan’s Hunter Lewallen came in with a 24:48 time.
GRANBURY RUNS AT MANSFIELD
The Granbury boys and girls competed in the Mansfield meet Friday, with Emma Thomas posting the top finish. She was 33rd among the girls, running the 3.1-mile course in 20:34.
Also for the Lady Pirates, Rachael Perriello had a time of 22:13.
For the Pirates, Andrew Reid clocked an 18:08 and Dylan Goosen posted a 20:41.
Almost every Granbury runner had personal-best times, said coach Amber Ward.
“The meet was congested, lots of schools and hard to fight your way through the pack,” said Ward. “Kids ran well.
“Looking good just two weeks away from district.”
