The Lipan Indians’ season got off to a rough start Tuesday with a 62-43 home loss to Graford.
The Indians found themselves down 22-7 after the first quarter and 41-16 at the half.
Lance Ferguson registered a double-double for the Indians, scoring 12 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. Joel Rice also scored a dozen points and grabbed a half a dozen rebounds.
Ferguson hit all four of Lipan’s 3-pointers.
As a team, Lipan shot 37 percent from 2-point range (13-for-35) and 21 percent from 3-point territory (4-for-19). In addition, the Indians struggled from the free throw line, going 5-for-12.
Lipan pulled down 41 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive side.
Defensively, the Indians registered three steals. However, they turned the ball over 21 times.
