The Tolar Lady Rattlers dropped a high-scoring contest to Whitney, 10-9, in a District 10-2A softball game.
The loss left the Lady Rattlers (12-10 overall) with a 2-3 district record following three consecutive defeats. This came on the heels of a nine-game winning streak.
Staci Ashley led Tolar offensively, going 4-for-5 with a tirple and a pair of RBIs. Ali Isom added three hits with an RBI.
In all, the Lady Rattlers combined for 16 hits from seven players.
“Our past two games should have been wins, but they weren’t so, the girls have a decision to make,” said Tolar coach Christi Collie.
“Are they going to lay down our season now or are they going to rise to the situation and fight hard for what they deserve this last go-round in district?
“I am their biggest fan, and I stand firm on my guess that they will be coming out fighting hard. The girls have made a vow to each other to stay united through the wins and losses.”
The Lady Rattlers are tied with Godley and Whitney for third place in district. They host Godley Friday and travel to Whitney April 19.
Grandview leads the district with a 5-0 record and Maypearl is second at 4-1.
