Lady Rattlers get big win

The Tolar Lady Rattlers ended a four-game losing streak by pulling away from Rio Vista for a 10-5 road victory Friday.

The victory improved the Lady Rattlers (6-11 overall) to 2-5 in District 10-2A. It kept their postseason hopes.

The Lady Rattlers were led by Haley Webb, who was 3-for-4 with a home run, walk, three runs batted in and four stolen bases.

Tatum Newton added two hits with an RBI, and Kailey Brock had a triple among her two hits.

Pitcher Staci Ashley held Rio in check, limiting them to six hits while striking out 10.

“It feels great to have a win,” said Tolar coach Christy Collie. “We have to win here on out.

“I’m proud of the girls’ game tonight.”

The Lady Rattlers were playing at Grandview last night. They will finish the regular season with a home game against Maypearl Friday and a trip to Whitney Tuesday.
