Lady Pirates fall to S’ville in warmup

The Granbury Lady Pirates warmed up for their fourth consecutive Class 4A playoff appearance by hosting rival Stephenville Saturday.

The Honeybees, also bound for the playoffs in Class 3A, defeated the Lady Pirates for the second time this season at the James Wann Sports Center. This time the visitors came away with a 25-22, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22 victory.

Granbury (22-17) was playing another rival, Cleburne (23-18) last night in bidistrict. Lady Pirate coach Tammy Clark was going for her 200th career victory.

Granbury has advanced to the third round of the playoffs each of the past three seasons.
