The Granbury Lady Pirates fell to 0-2 on the young basketball season with a 31-28 home loss to rival Stephenville Tuesday.
Morgan Northcutt led Granbury with 10 points, while Bryce Frank grabbed eight rebounds.
The Lady Pirates were undone by a third quarter that saw them get outscored 8-2 by the Honeybees. Granbury had led 20-15 af the half.
“We just need more depth,” said coach Leta Andrews. “The girls are playing hard, and hopefully this will pay off, but we need more players.
“They did play good defense.”
The Lady Pirates are missing three players who are still on the volleyball team competing at the regional tournament this weekend, Amber Strange, Kennedy Shelstead and Erin Jones.
The Lady Pirates scored as many points (14) at the free throw line as they did from the field.
