The Granbury Lady Pirates know their position for the upcoming 4A volleyball playoffs.
They will be the No. 2 seed from District 7-4A following their 25-6, 25-6, 25-12 win at Fort Worth Southwest Friday.
The Lady Pirates (21-16, 11-2 in district) will play rival Cleburne (17-13), the third-place team from 8-4A in bidistrict, Oct. 29 or 30.
The Lady Pirates outplayed The Lady Raiders in all phases, especially on serve-receive. Karis Beasley delivered nine of the team’s 16 aces.
“Strong serving from Karis made it difficult for Southwest to generate their offense,” said Lady Pirate coach Tammy Clark.
Beasley came within one ace of a double-double as she also had 11 defensive digs.
This is Granbury’s fourth straight playoff season. In each of the previous three they advanced three rounds.
