November 7, 2012

The Granbury Lady Pirates golf team competed in the Burleson Centennial Spartans Tournament at Hidden Creek recently, finishing eighth with a two-day score of 847.

The Lady Pirates shot 432 the first day and improved to 415 the second.

“Our scores are still higher than we like, but the girls are working very hard to correct that,” said Lady Pirate coach Becky Addison.

Chelsea Judge led with rounds of 101 and 98, Juliana Eckley was next with 108 and 95, followed by Myranda Allen’s 103-98, Laurel Burns at 120-114, and Skylar Woodward at 128-118.

For Eckley, it was her first time to shoot in the 90s, said Addison.

“She was super pumped, as she should be,” Addison said.

“As I keep saying, these girls have very little experience, but they are fast improving their games.”

The Lady Pirates will wrap up the fall season this weekend in the North Texas Fall 2-Step Tournament. The first round is at Mansfield National, and the second round is at Southern Oaks in Burleson.
